WOMEN'S MINISTRIES HOME

There is nothing like getting involved with the women at All Nations to discover new friends and family in a Christian environment. We can offer you many different entry points if you are a newcomer or even if you've been around for awhile. There are six different areas of Women's Ministries, each with its own unique focus, yet each with an opportunity to work with other women in a fun and supportive setting. You'll find a place that will interest you and then it's just a matter of contacting the coordinator to get involved or to participate. I encourage you to take a risk and choose an area where you will find Jesus, friendship and support.

WoMin Mission Statement

Through the mission of All Nations Church, the mandate of WoMin is to provide opportunities for women to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, grow spiritually, and go make a difference in our world. WoMin's activities focus on the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical aspects of total wellness.

What is Women's Ministries and our umbrella all about?

It's about YOU - a woman in our church, who influences your family and friends.

It's about GOD - who wants us to be together, protected, sheltered, unified, purposeful, useful, functional, bright and beautiful.

It's about US - gathering as the Holy Spirit moves, to provide for the needs of each other as we come to know, grow and go. Each different segment of our umbrella represents WoMin groups that are designed especially for you, and are available to you and yours.

1 Thess. 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Prayer Ministry

The mission, if you wish to accept it, involves praying and eating, and lots and lots of laughing.
Looking for a place to get involved but so far you haven't been able to find a good fit? Try joining the Prayer Team. Every Friday morning, we get together at the Prete Street Ministry Centre (9:00-11:00). Join us whenever you have a free Friday or come regularly. Under the leadership of Jean Mahood, all attendees will have the opportunity to pray, take part in a short Bible study, fellowship, and enjoy some good, old-fashioned laugh therapy, followed by a buffet lunch at the Holiday Inn. For more information, please contact Jean Mahood 673-8883.

Women's Spring Retreat

Imagine a weekend surrounded by people who all know how to change the toilet paper roll and take care of themselves. Now that's life!

"I absolutely loved all of it. Great activities, great lodging, great food, great locations, great price, great range of options for young and old. (Spring Retreat participant)

Join a large group of fun-loving and God-loving women for one of the most uplifting women's retreats in Ontario. Inspirational and renowned guest speakers are often flown in from out of the country to speak at our Women's Spring Retreat. Take some time to relax and reflect at our yearly getaway as you admire the gorgeous surroundings of Cleveland's House Resort in the heart of Muskoka on prestigious Lake Rosseau. This enriching event was founded in 1992 and has been growing exponentially ever since. It is the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate your soul, network with women from all different backgrounds, and to reach out to a friend by bringing her along for this blessings-filled ride. Don't miss out on the worship, music, relevant message and recreation!

If you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions about this event, please contact Tina Whitman, Women's Spring Retreat Coordinator 897-2347 tina.whitman@greatersudbury.ca.

Women's Spring Retreat Prayer Team

We experience that food and prayer go hand in hand.
Beginning in January, the Women's Spring Retreat Prayer Team meets once a month until April, and then weekly prior to the Women's Spring Retreat, to pray for specific needs surrounding all aspects of the event and for each woman who will attend the Retreat. Maud Rodgers coordinates the Retreat Prayer Meetings that are held on weekday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00. Rumor has it that Maud provides delectable snacks to munch on during the meetings. Yum!

For more information on this Prayer Team, please contact Gayle Pasanen, Women's Spring Retreat Prayer Team Coordinator 705-673-6110.

Women's Breakfasts

It's a continental breakfast for the family today because Mommy's eating out!
Food brings people together. At least it works for the women at All Nations Church. Four times a year we hold a two-hour Saturday breakfast that provides women with the opportunity to gather for delicious food, fabulous fun and fantastic fellowship. These reasonably-priced breakfasts are held during the school year and are the perfect occasions to bring a friend. Dress how you like and enjoy a meal prepared for you while you receive updates on Women's Ministries, participate in a group discussion, or take in a guest speaker's encouraging message. It's exciting, enriching, and extremely appetizing.

For more information on the Women's Breakfast, please contact Lynda Beavis, Women's Breakfast Coordinator 522-5270  beavis@sympatico.ca.

Communications

English is a very confusing language. There is no egg in eggplant, and no ham in hamburger. A guinea pig is neither from Guinea, nor is it a pig. English muffins were not invented in England, and French fries were not invented in France. We fill in a form by filling it out, drive on parkways and park on driveways. Call us crazy, but we have a passion to communicate clearly.

The WoMin's Communications Team is a working group and a caring group. We come together in a spirit of joy to create awareness of Women's Ministries within the church and the community by creating brochures, newsletters and welcome kits, and by giving out gift certificates. We also coordinate the use of the WoMin's Display Board in the foyer at Fraser Auditorium and provide updated content for the Women's Ministries' web pages.

We have a spot for you as a writer, reporter, event photographer, editor or helper, and provide communication training, mentoring, and fun! If connecting women is your passion, or if you want to learn new skills, contact Diane Ikonen, Communications Team Coordinator 566-9752  ikonen@cyberbeach.net.
