WHAT IS SMALL GROUP MINISTRIES?

Small Groups is a ministry of All Nations Church, designed to involve anyone who is interested in participating in a Small Group. Over the past few years, hundreds of people have participated in the 40 Days of Purpose, Beyond These Walls, and Living Beyond Myself campaigns. Groups are continuing to meet, and more groups are forming as All Nations Church builds on its commitment to connect people through Small Groups. Our Small Groups team can place you in a Small Group, according to your individual interests or location; help you to organize a Small Group for informal bible study; assist you in acquiring curriculum materials for your group; and train and mentor you in your leadership role.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED IN A SMALL GROUP?

The Small Groups team is available to help you get connected with a small group. If you want information about when and where groups are meeting:

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SMALL GROUP?

During the 40- Days of Purpose campaign, many of us discovered that God's purpose for our lives included becoming connected with others in fellowship, worshipping God through prayer, serving others with our gifts, being discipled through the study of God's word, and sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ with others. All of these purposes have a place in a Small Group. In Small Groups, a host opens his or her home, and may also lead the discussion or have another member of the group serve as the leader. Refreshments are usually served, and members participate in a discussion that is centered on the bible, and which may be accompanied by a video teaching time. There is time set aside for prayer, including the personal prayer requests of members. You can get to know others in this informal setting and grow with them, as each of you seeks God's purpose for your life.

WHAT STUDIES ARE CURRENTLY BEING USED IN SMALL GROUPS?

All Nations Church is committed to helping individuals to become disciples through the study of God's word. A variety of curricula are available and the Small Groups team can help you find and order these, and other, worthwhile materials. Use the Curriculum Choices link on this webpage to browse through a collection of studies that have been recently used in Small Groups or have been recommended by the Small Groups team. You can also preview samples of these at the Small Groups booth, and some study guides can be signed out so that you can check them out yourself and let your group members have a peek.

WHAT IS THE SMALL GROUPS STEERING TEAM?

Your Small Groups Steering Team really is a team. Every member of the Small Groups team meets together monthly to discuss the Small Groups vision at All Nations Church, to plan for upcoming events, and to update the whole team about current issues in curriculum, training, placement and recruitment. Every member takes turns manning the Small Groups booth and is knowledgeable about where to go for answers to questions from potential participants. If you are interested in participating in a Small Group, or are looking for information for your group, contact any team member by phone or email, or drop by the Small Groups booth in the foyer. We are also always looking for new members for our team. If you believe in Small Groups and would like to get involved, contact Gerry Legault, or any member of the team, to find out how you could fit in, or when the next Small Groups meeting is.

WHAT TRAINING IS PROVIDED FOR THE SMALL GROUPS LEADERS?

The Small Groups team provides training for new and experienced Small Group leaders. Our intention is to provide the biblical basis for what we do in Small Groups, and to support and mentor those who are serving God through hosting or leading a Small Group. See the Leader Training link on this webpage for an outline of the topics covered in Leader Training 101 and 201. Sessions are held at various times throughout the year as demand requires. Let us know if you're interested in attending the next session.
